Happy Birthday Keith!
This past Sunday, December 9th, we celebrated the birthday of Church Council member, Keith Yowell. Two years ago Keith suffered a stroke, and has thankfully recovered. We are blessed and grateful to have Keith still with us, and hope to celebrate many more birthdays with him.
Keith’s wife, Karen, thankfully recognized he was having a stroke and got him help quickly. She reminds everyone to know how to identify a stroke in progress:
Please be sure you know how to Act F.A.S.T.
F – Face – ask the person to smile - a person experiencing a stroke may smile crooked, one side of the mouth will droop
A - Arms – ask them to hold their arms out in front of them, one of the arms may be lower than the other
S – Ask – Ask the person to say something, their speech might be different than usual
T – Time – Time is of the essence! Time is Brain!
If you suspect a stroke get the person checked out!! Better an abundance of caution than a tragic outcome!
