Guidelines for Return to In-Person Worship During COVID19

Now that we have returned to in-person Worship, the Grace UCC Council has adopted the following guidelines with the understanding that Grace UCC has a high level of responsibility to ensure the safety of our congregants. We have confidence in our membership to do the right thing to keep one another safe from communicable respiratory diseases, including COVID19, influenza and the common cold.

●        Grace UCC will continue to offer the opportunity to participate in worship via Zoom; this recognizes that attendance and any attendant risk is undertaken as a personal decision. We welcome all in any fashion that they wish to participate.

●        We expect all congregants and visitors to properly wear their masks for the benefit of others. We will have masks available for those who may have forgotten to bring one.

●        Social distancing between family groups is encouraged and Passing of the Peace will be contact free.

●        The person(s) leading portions of the worship may be unmasked as needed.

●        It is the Council’s strong recommendation that all persons who wish to participate in worship in person be vaccinated with an FDA-approved vaccine. As a positive example, all members of Council have been vaccinated.

●        Children are welcome at the discretion of their parents.

●        Hand sanitizer solutions/gels will be available upon entry for those wishing to avail themselves of these.

●        A sign in sheet will be available. Guests are encouraged to sign-in to aid in contact tracing if needed.

●        Baskets will not be passed for the offering. Baskets (and the change bowl) will be available at the door to receive your offering when entering or exiting the building.

●        Communion will be administered with individual servings of wafers or individually wrapped crackers and grape juice. Elements can be arranged on a table. One person at a time will come up to take their portion to take back to their seat.

●        No refreshments served during social hour. Attendees are welcome to socialize outdoors after the service, weather permitting.
