Volunteer Opportunity: Hunterdon Helpline Friendly Visitor Program

Hunterdon Helpline has an urgent need for volunteers in their Friendly Visitor program. The Friendly Visitor program volunteers provide friendly visits to Hunterdon County residents 60 years or older who are socially and/or geographically isolated. Friendly Visitors visit seniors in the senior’s residence. The visits are social in nature and the matched pair may play cards, look at photographs, read the newspaper, reminisce, or just chat.

Due to the pandemic, many seniors are even more isolated than before, leading to an increased need for volunteers. To volunteer or learn more call Hunterdon Helpline at 908.728.3457.

Volunteer Opportunity: Hunterdon Helpline Volunteer Shoppers Needed

The Hunterdon Helpline Volunteer Shopper program is in desperate need of volunteers. Volunteer shoppers go to the grocery store or food pantry to shop for disabled seniors. Volunteers shop and deliver the order, but the senior pays for the items directly. Since the pandemic the need is greater than ever. For more information or to volunteer call Hunterdon Helpline at 908.782.4357.
