Back from the Brink: The Call to Prevent Nuclear War

Back from the Brink: The Call to Prevent Nuclear War is a national grassroots campaign seeking to fundamentally change U.S. nuclear weapons policy and lead us away from the dangerous path we are on. The initiative lays out five common-sense steps that the United States should take to reform its nuclear policy. We are asking individuals and organizations to join the effort and help build a healthier, safer, and more just world for our children to inherit.

UCC Disaster Fund: Hurricane Eta Relief

During the first days of November, Hurricane Eta brought catastrophic damage to Nicaragua and Honduras's Atlantic coast with heavy rain, winds triggering inland flooding, and landslides. The joint Global Ministries of the United Church of Christ/Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Latin America and Caribbean Office has made an initial contribution toward immediate relief needs.

Eta also has been attacking the Caribbean and Florida, possibly heading next to the U.S. Gulf Coast.

How to Submit Justice Action Links for This Blog

This blog relies heavily on YOU, the Justice-focused reader, submitting important actions to be posted for others to participate in. However, there are some guidelines to have in mind.

DO scan the websites of the organizations you follow/interact with periodically to see what events and actions they have coming up.

DO send the links to individual actions that you want posted to the webmaster at kelly.ospina@graceuccnj.org (Make sure to specifiy the item is for the Justice blog).

DO include enough details to make it clear what the action is about, and how to get involved (Where, what, when, how, who, registration or more info URL, etc.).

DO keep in mind that while posts may go up on the blog throughout the week, the weekly email only goes out on Monday at 7:00 a.m. Accordingly, try to submit activities at least one week ahead of time for maximum exposure and to give our readers time to plan to participate.

DO NOT send an email for an event happening that day, or the next day, and epect it to get posted in time for others to participate.

DO NOT send items that are focused on partisan political activities.

Thank you for your attention to these details, and for all of the great content you are helping to provide for our community of readers.
