Faith & Democracy 2020 - 30 Days of Get Out The Vote

The organizers of Faith & Democracy 2020 call on all local churches, pastors, and justice leaders of the Faith & Democracy 2020 Campaign to organize a weekly public witness and action from now until the General Election (November 3rd) to empower voters and get out the vote in your local community.

Tuesdays for the Soul - October 8th Webinar @ 3:00 p.m.

An afternoon of theological and their ministerial reflections by the UCC recipients of the Hector E. Lopez Scholarship. The Hispanic/Latinx population has experienced enormous growth in the past few decades. Mainline Protestant denominations have been unable to effectively meet the pastoral challenge this growth represents. The UCC, one of the most prophetic and socially progressive Christian denominations in the USA, took action to meet this challenge through its Council for Hispanic Ministries with the establishment of The Reverend Dr. Héctor E. López Scholarship for Latina & Latino UCC Seminarians. This program was established as a 4-way covenant between the Council for Hispanic Ministries [(now known as the Colectivo de UCC Latinx Ministries)], Justice and Witness Ministries, Local Church Ministries, and Wider Church Ministries of the UCC.

Addressing Racism as a Public Health Crisis

It is abundantly clear that racism is a public health emergency, and it is time for our governmental institutions to do more than simply acknowledge the impact of systemic racism on Black and Brown communities.

The Anti-Racism in Public Health Act would create a “Center on Anti-Racism in Health” at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to deepen the federal government’s commitment to ensuring that policies are anti-racist and take systemic racism into account.
