Deacon Responsibilities

• In coordination with the pastor(s) attend to the spiritual needs of the members.
  

• In coordination with the pastor(s) attend to the visitation needs of the members.
  

• Coordinate the worship celebrations set up and break down- to include that of greeting and coffee hour coordination, along with supply upkeep (e.g., communion, paper towels, kitchen items, etc.).
  

Trustee Responsibilities

• Attend to the financial and fiduciary responsibilities of the church.
  

• Attend to the physical plant of the church (e.g., make sure side-walks are shoveled and de-iced for church on Sunday morning).
  

• Be the liaison with the FWC for issues pertaining to the church’s relationship with them (e.g., rent arrangements, the obtaining of keys, etc.).
  

• Attend to the physical upkeep of the office (e.g., painting, garbage and recycling removal, cleaning of the office, etc.).
  

Prayer given by Ed Fimbel to begin the Grace UCC council meeting on January 9, 2010:

Dear Lord: Give us the courage to cry and the strength to laugh....Give us the wisdom to see and the patience to listen... Give us the insight to find a way and the energy to make things happen...Let us not be afraid to stand alone as well as stand together...with these gifts we are building a community and sowing the seeds for a better world...Amen
