Grace UCC Vision Statement
Grace UCC, a church without barriers to God, is a welcoming, inclusive, open and affirming congregation, rooted in the ministry of Jesus Christ. We acknowledge that God is still speaking in the world and in our midst. With God’s grace, we seek to be a congregation that includes all persons, embracing differences of sexual orientation, gender, marital status, age, mental and physical ability, as well as racial, ethnic, or socioeconomic background. We welcome all to share in the life and leadership, ministry, fellowship, worship, sacraments, responsibilities, and blessings of participation in our congregation.
Our Shared Values
We are guided by the teachings of Jesus. We make decisions with integrity in accordance with our beliefs. We act in the interest of peace and social justice, prioritizing mission work to help those in need. We promote and support opportunities for lay leadership. We conduct ourselves in a transparent and ethical manner. We continually act and reflect as we promote a learning culture. We nurture a community of extravagant welcome and hospitality. We celebrate our strengths and appreciate our doubts. We embrace each person’s culture and spiritual journey. We use the wisdom of our congregation in decision making. We maximize our community presence through collaboration and partnership. We create opportunities for youth leadership in church activities.
Events and news
Each year, members of Grace UCC form a team to buy Christmas presents for families in need in the community. The families are identified by Family Promise, and the Grace UCC Angel Patrol does the purchasing and wrapping of the gifts. Opportunities to join this year’s Angel Patrol team will become available shortly before Thanksgiving.
On November 26th during Story Circle the kids will decide where to spend our Pennies & Nickles donations.
Grace UCC is a Support Church in the Family Promise network. The next occasion to participate will be at the Flemington Jewish Community Center (FJCC) during the week of Christmas, and then at the Flemington Presbyterian Church (FPC) the first week of the new year. Sign-up will begin the week before Christmas.
